In Loving Memory: Chloe's Story

"Chloe Brown was a fit and healthy 7 years ago but sadly suffered a horse riding accident abroad which led to many injuries which since spiralled from that date, one of which was gastroparesis.

Chloe was a kind hearted confident girl who would do anything for anybody else, there were times you would think she was fit and well but she had a great way of hiding things just to ensure everybody else was ok and not worrying about her. Chloe was an inspiration to others and a true fighter but sadly on the 3rd of August 2016 she had deteriorated and her fight came to an end."

-  Katie Brown, Chloe's sister.

I had the pleasure of meeting Chloe personally a couple of years ago whilst in the hospital together. I remember being amazed at how well she handled everything. She explained to me that she didn't like to tell people she was so ill because she didn't want to be treated differently. She often hid how much she was struggling and was still working when we met. She was kind and thoughtful and above all...incredibly brave!

GIFT would like to Thank Chloe's family and friends for their kind donations and extend our deepest sympathy for the loss of such a beautiful soul.

For Chloe:

I look down today from way up high,

I'm up here with no pain in the sky.

It breaks my heart to see you so sad,

But instead of tears think of what we had.

Those nights we laughed until we cried,

I may be gone but I have not died.

If you carry me round inside your heart,

Then you and I will never be apart.

So wipe your tears and stand up tall,

I will be there with you if you should fall.

I am free up here dancing in the rain,

And someday we will all be together again.

But until then promise me one thing,

That you will laugh and dance and sing.

Life is beautiful and to short for heartbreak,

So go out, live right now today for my sake.

And when you see a breathtaking sunset,

And realise how incredible life can get.

Know that I am stood right there with you,

That I will be there no matter what you do.

I love you so much and don't want you to cry,

For I am pain free up here in the sky.
